My big girl has turned five. And my oh my how our lives has changed in the past 5 years. 5 years ago i was walking around in Walmart...big and pregnant when my water broke. And as fast as she came into this world is as fast as our hearts grew a million times bigger. I remember in those moments thanking the heavens for her, smelling her, and wrapping her up in my arms.
So it was horrible irony that 5 years later almost to the hour we found ourselves in emergency with our poor little monkey. We've all been so sick the past few weeks, and i guess it got the best of Elise, her fever spiked too fast and she had a seizure... a memory i would trade anything for. I won't lie...it still haunts me.
So this week-end, we celebrated. We celebrated friends, celebrated family, we ate, we drank, and watched our little girl with her friends chat and laugh and have an awesome belated birthday.
This week-end we took "the blue box" down - which was given to Elise when she was born, and every birthday we take it down, and every year we celebrate and create a new memory with the cake stand which we hope will last generations in our family.
We gave her what she wanted which was to have her bff's over for tea and cupcakes. The girls were hilarious, Ruben asked them if they were all going to be pastry chefs when they grow up and they were like "nooooo!!! We're gonna be ROCKSTARS!!!" and they all broke out in tune. There was some mad tea concoctions going on and some crazy skills on the cup cake decorating. The house was full of giggles and it was a great little gathering for our girl.
My sweet Ellie Belle... you are so loved, you are cherished, you are celebrated. xoxo
and i just love this photo... this is the look of "thanks mom"
