prima strada pizzeria

one of our favourite places to eat in the city is prima strada. the food never disappoints - you just can't beat the taste of a fire roasted pizza! last year i got a chance to photograph the beautiful buffaloes that make the mozzarella for their pizzas and this past week i had a chance to meet with the staff and photograph some fabulous cocktails that they now have on the menu.

local moms - here you go - drinks and that perfect brick oven pizza for a well deserved date night.

10 acres | victoria bc commercial photographer

for the past few months i have been working with this amazing farm to table restaurant located here in victoria. it started with some black and white fine art images for their restaurant walls and since then they have asked me to come back a few times to do food shots of their very local menu.

i'm a littttttle picky when it comes to food, as in - i don't like to waste calories on food that is so-so...and this is definitely a place i would recommend! the atmosphere and staff are so inviting, and the food is excellent. click here to see more...

here are a few images from today...

Warning: the following images will make you hungry | Victoria BC photographer

I've been wanting for a while now to push myself out of my comfort zone of photographing people and start a gallery of food images. Even though Ruben is a chef - there was no way I could set up a proper shoot at home with 3 kids. Lucky for me, Haro's in Sidney had just rolled out a new menu and was happy to have me over for the evening to take some shots. My brother who works there (and who was also my model for the evening) gave me the low down on the restaurant: ocean-wise seafood, meats, dairy and produce which are locally sourced and food that is fresh not frozen. I was excited! Tim and his team created some gorgeous dishes for us and the front staff was excellent about us using up a few tables. Not only did I get a chance to photograph some amazing food, I got to enjoy it afterwards!

Thank you again Tim for having me, it was a great experience and the food was excellent!

hi tree

I love when Victoria is full of blossoms, I had to make sure not to miss out on taking a few of this tree when I passed it today. So beautuful!

fairburn farm | victoria bc photographer

This past weekend we went up to fairburn farm. Originally I was planning on going on my own to take some photos for a client, but I'm too chicken to drive the Malahat on my own so we went up as a family.

Wow - What a beautiful farm! The girls had a great time up there. The farm is full of history and sits on over 100 acres in the cowichan valley. Fairburn is family owned and was one of Canada's first water buffalo dairy farms which supplies to Natural Pastures Cheese company to make mozzarella. yummmm....

The girls played while we were up there, Olivia 'petted' a 2200 lb buffalo, and ran around looking at the chickens and played with the family dogs. The farm also has a bed and breakfast there where you can go with your kids, and they can collect eggs in the morning, feed the baby buffalo and run around the property.

We will definitely be going back as a family to stay one day.

Here are some of my favorite photos i did last week for the children's health foundation. these little girls are from a family of many, and they were one of the first families that stayed at Jeneece Place when it opened. We had such a fun time at the beach, throwing rocks and running around; i was exhausted by the end. The twins are lively and bubbly and full of personality. And I couldn't get enough of big sisters adorable freckles. seriously cute kid. i hope mom and aunty enjoy these photos!

Jamaica's 50th year of independence

Here are some images from today's celebration. It was so great to be apart of the festivities! Glo did an amazing job decorating and hosting the event. The food was so good, and it was great to see everyone together for this special day.
